Come play with us! Fiber Guild of the Blue Ridge (FGBR) is a welcoming group of fiber folk in Purcellville, VA who have a wide range of different skill levels in weaving, knitting, spinning, crochet, and other fiber arts.
We are a 501(c)(3), non-profit whose mission is to educate the public and ourselves in the fiber arts. We have a wonderful time doing just that!
To join, please pay the dues using Paypal and fill out the membership form – a link will be automatically emailed to you after you pay dues. There is a $1.12 PayPal service fee which will be added to your dues.
If you’d like to meet us first, before deciding to join FGBR, please drop by one of our study groups, Common Threads, or our monthly Membership Meeting.
Guild membership has a number of benefits in addition to study groups and meetings. You get access to our study groups, meet-ups, monthly programs, and members-only information for a full year, from the time you join until May 31, which fulfills a portion of our Mission Statement to educate our members in the fiber arts:

- Sip and Spin (other crafts are welcome!)
You have myriad opportunities to fulfill part of our Mission Statement to educate the community in the fiber arts with annual, monthly, and ad hoc events!
- Joshua’s Hands – Hands-on demonstrations/information only
- Family Arts Night – Hands-on demonstrations /information only
- Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival – Hands-on demonstrations/information only
- Bluemont Fair – Hands-on demonstrations/information and sales
Monthly Outreach Opportunities include:
- Graffiti & Silk Community Loom – Teaching, including providing information and hands-on student weaving, maintaining student and teacher sign-ups via Sign Up Genius, maintain warp and weft materials, keeping loom warped and ready
- Common Threads – help visitors with fiber arts questions or give presentations
- Ad hoc demonstrations or displays of work throughout the year as opportunities present themselves
